LWIA 23 offers the following Business Services:

  • On-the-Job Training – provides wage reimbursement for eligible employees training for a new job
  • Incumbent Worker Training – covers up to 100% of training costs for current employees upgrading skills resulting in promotion or salary increase
  • Youth Work Experience – grant funds to cover wages of young adults while they work for local companies developing employability skills and learning about their chosen industry
  • Apprenticeships – Apprenticeship Specialist on staff to lead local employers through the process of developing and registering a Department of Labor-registered Apprenticeship program and ensure businesses benefit from the state tax-credit for employing apprentices
  • Talent Pipeline Management® Strategies – Facilitation for sector partnerships with the goal of designing workforce talent pipeline solutions
  • Connections with Regional Business Services – as a convener of workforce partners across the region, and overseer of the One Stop American Jobs Center in Effingham, LWIA 23 is a great starting point for any workforce need
  • Virtual Job Fairs – free virtual job fair platform through our partnership with Illinois WorkNet and Illinois Department of Employment Security
