Lady Eagles Defeat Mattoon But Fall to Pana

The Lady Eagles defeated the Mattoon Greenwave with a final score of 10-0. Lexie Grove collected three hits in three at-bats with a double in the third inning, a single in the fourth inning, and a single in the first inning. Six runs in the fourth inning helped the Eagles win with Bailee Frichtl singling and scoring one run, Camryn Martin tripling, scoring one run, Grove singling scoring two runs, and Allie Stanley doubling, scoring two runs.

The Lady Eagles got on the board early in the game with a single by Grove in the bottom of the first and Lily Kessler hitting a sacrifice fly each scoring one run. That lead increased when Grove doubled in the bottom of the third and Kessler singled each scoring one run.

Amelia Collins earned the win for the Eagles allowing one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one.

The Lady Eagles fell to Pana in a close game of 3-4. Sally Mahaffey hit a home run to right field tying the game at the top of the third. Amelia Collings took the loss for the Eagles going four and one-third innings, allowing four runs on eight hits, striking out two, and walking none.
