What made you decide this school was the best fit for you?

OCC was the best fit for me, because it was close to home, and has given me many opportunities.

How do you feel NCHS has prepared you for this next step in life?

NCHS has prepared me by the amount of dual credit classes that are offered. It gave me many different classes to help me decide what I want to do in the future.

What are at least two life lessons you have learned from your musical time at NCHS ?

One life lesson is that when you give hard work, success will follow. Working through the summer getting ready for marching season comes with its ups and downs. Being able to show an ending result that entertains people shows the hard work we put in to make it that way. Another lesson is that communication is key. With making music, you have to listen to everyone around you. It doesn’t matter who it is. We are a team, and everyone has to work together to make the end result how we want it.

How have your instructors and/or directors helped prepare you to perform at a collegiate level?

Mr. Ridlen has always treated us professionally, which has prepared me for college level. Being able to be directed by multiple directors like Mr. Finley has also prepared me for college level performances.

What will you miss the most next year about not being a Newton Eagle?

I will definitely miss knowing everything that is going on. Having to start fresh will be difficult, but I know I will be ready to start new.
