Newton Lady Eagles Finish 7th in Challenging 16 Team Competition #1 Singles – Jacelyn Street finished 3rd by defeating Jackeline Garcia of Morton 6-0,6-0. Next she defeated Jenna Dose of Bloomington Central Catholic before facing the tournament’s number one seed and being defeated by Emma Baker of Chicago Lab School
The Newton Eagles opened their season at Paris where they faced the Tigers (who were the 2018 LIC Champions). After a fierce battle, the Eagles fell with a final score of 13-12. The first quarter of the game remained scoreless at the Eagles and the Tigers battled up and down
The Newton Eagles Soccer Team placed second in the St. Anthony Tournament held in T-town. On Saturday, the Eagles defeated Christ our Rock Lutheran and Salem to cinch their 4-0 record in the tournament. In the game against Christ our Rock Lutheran goals were scored by Ross Farley (four). Carder

Seniors: Kelsi Geltz: “Kelsi is our varsity libero and has been for the past three years. She is a co-captain this year. She is incredibly quick and will do absolutely anything in her power to keep a volleyball from hitting the ground. She is a true competitor of the game.”
Jacelyn Street “Leading the team at the #1 Singles position again this year, Jacelyn has set goals for herself every year and has worked very hard to attain them. I’m anxious to see how far her hard work takes her in this, her final season, as a Newton Lady Eagle!”
