Beloved father, brother and grandfather Donald Eugene York, age 76, of West Salem, Illinois, left to be with the Lord at 11:57 AM
on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation, Mt. Vernon, Indiana.

Donald was born on March 13, 1950, in Hammond, Indiana, the son of Joseph and Bonnie (Cantwell) York.
Donald was a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Army as a Seargent E5. He was a forklift operator at the distribution center and had worked as an orderly at a hospital in California. Donald was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and Rolling Thunder. He loved being outdoors, fishing, riding motorcycles and spending time with family and friends.

Brothers: Richard (Diane) York of West Salem, Illinois and Ronald (Marsha) York of Griffith, Indiana
Sisters: Twyla (Mike) Walter of Columbia, Tennessee and Arlene (Joe) Anweiler of Gary, Indiana
Grandson: Cinch Wade of Durant, Oklahoma
Good Friend: Angel
Donald was preceded in death by his parents.
In Lieu of flowers Donald has asked that memorials be made to either Rolling Thunder Chapter 3, VFW 226 or the American Legion.
