Letter to the Editor from Bernard Woodard

Sadly this evening new Willow Hill attorney David Benney threatened me on the telephone that the village of Willow Hill had authorized him to threaten me with condemning the school if I did not back off on their unauthorized digging across the back of our properties. Pay attention Willow Hill voters as the next person this corruption through extortion happens to may be you!! I was told that the Jasper County Health Department had issued a demand to the city to clean up a pond on another property causing mosquitoes so they did not have to notify the property owners,,,when I asked Mr. Benney for the health inspector’s name, number and the demand notice he said he would not give it to me and the damages was past the stature of limitations so it did not matter. He is not a judge he is merely an attorney which 50% win cases and 50% lose cases. This attorney claims to have seen the school in the last few days with the windows broken out,,,he is an outright liar and has spread other lies about me…which hopefully you ask me yourself.

  1. OFFICIAL RESPONSE TO LETTER TO THE EDITOR FROM BERNARD WOODARD

    Dear Editor and Readers
Many of the statements and assertions made in this gentleman’s “Letter to the Editor” are distortions of fact, and, in some instances, are outright fabrications. The property at 200 S Cumberland in Willow Hill–and its ownership– is still being investigated on behalf of the village, and so my office declines to comment further until we complete our investigation and the results are reported to the Board of Trustees. My office is not in the practice of resolving matters in the press or on social media.
Anyone with relevant information helpful to us may reach me by telephone at (618) 783-5207. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. The Law Office of David Benney is committed to providing quality and competent legal representation to all of our clients in Jasper County and throughout Southeastern Illinois.

    Respectfully,

    David Benney
    Attorney at Law
