Megan Hartrich, daughter of Joyce Hartrich and the late Scott Hartrich, will be attending Olney Central College where she will be participating in their theater department including the plays and musicals. During her time at NCHS, Megan also participated in musicals as the student director for Frozen Jr. and Oklahoma, dance captain in Oklahoma, saxophone in the marching band, president of the FCA, and a member of Student Council, chorus, and BETA Club. She is also a member of the Reading Excites All Dreams program and a member of her church’s youth group. She has also been hired as the assistant director for Newton for next year. I am apart of the R.EA.D. program and am a member of my church’s youth group. I’ve been hired as the assistant director for Newton for next year.
What made you decide this school was the best fit for you?
There theater program was something I was really interested in, and OCC is really good about helping you transfer to a four year when you’re ready.
How do you feel NCHS has prepared you for this next step in life?
I learned time management, work ethic, and most importantly: kindness.
What are at least two life lessons you have learned from your musical time at NCHS?
I learned how to be confident in myself and how to advocate for myself as well. Another lesson I learned was how to manage my time well.
How have your instructors and/or directors helped prepare you to perform at a collegiate level?
I learned how to be professional and how to conduct myself in a theater.
What will you miss the most next year about not being a Newton Eagle?
All the bonds I’ve created with the wonderful people here.
