Newton Community High School students kicked off Homecoming Friday morning, September 25, with a pep rally filled with school spirit and activities celebrating the many groups that make up the school community.
The morning began with the NCHS band performing the school song, followed by a performance from the cheerleaders that helped get students ready for a full day of Homecoming festivities.
Head Football Coach Jason Fulton also addressed the students, highlighting the accomplishments and activities of NCHS students throughout the fall. Fulton spoke about the fall sports teams, the Newton Marching Eagles and the FFA, encouraging students to support their classmates and get involved in the many opportunities available at the school.
Students then took part in a series of games and activities, including boys volleyball with the juniors winning, adding plenty of competition and laughter to the morning.
The Homecoming celebration concluded with a free lunch for students. The FFA prepared porkburgers for the event, while cookies were made by students in the foods classes.
The morning provided NCHS students with an opportunity to celebrate their school, support one another and enjoy some Homecoming fun together before the afternoon and evening festivities.
