A two-day book sale will be held at the Newton Public Library District 100 S. Van Buren St. Newton IL, 62448 on October 2 & 3rd. The book sale will be held on the sidewalk in front of the library. Please be courteous and practice social distancing and mask wearing.
The City of Newton is accepting sealed proposal for hot mix asphalt surface removal and resurfacing, pavement marking and sidewalk ramp of approximately 658 feet of Washington Street.
A Newton Elementary teacher has tested positive with COVID-19. The other teachers in this grade level and several students have been quarantined beginning today. The staff effected by this quarantine will work remotely with the students who are in person and the students who are working remotely.

Jasper County Cancer support hosted by the Ambraw Eagles 4475 recently held a porkburger and brat sale to help raise money for the organization. This organization helps Jasper County residents going through cancer.
