Scott Avenue Groundbreaking for New Addition

Scott Avenue Christian Church held a groundbreaking ceremony on Sunday, August 21. Several charter members who had founded the church in 1967 were present to help turn the first shovels of dirt. Also assisting were some members of the staff, leadership, building team and a young mother and son representing future members. Scott Avenue will begin ground work soon for their multipurpose building. This building was described as a tool to be used for God’s purposes for the church and the community. Just as the charter members stepped out in faith all those years ago, the current congregation is stepping out in faith to expand the church once again. Once complete, it will have a stage, basketball/volleyball court, pickle ball, large kitchen area and many other features that will make a great usable space. You will probably see some fundraisers happening in the months ahead. “We hope to have a bake sale at the fall festival. Plans are in the work’s for a mystery dinner theater for New Year’s eve. And I’m sure we will come up with some other fun events,” says Theresa Zuber, member at SACC. You can follow their Facebook page to stay up to date on the progress and events.
