Tarr Family Leads the Way at Jasper County 4-H Beef Show

The Jasper County 4-H Beef Show showcased the hard work and dedication of local exhibitors, with the Tarr family highlighting the day’s competition by capturing both the Grand Champion Beef Female and Grand Champion Beef Steer titles.

Riley Tarr earned Grand Champion Beef Female honors with her Champion Simmental Female. She also claimed Reserve Champion Simmental Female and finished with the Reserve Grand Champion Beef Steer, making her one of the show’s top exhibitors.

Turner Tarr exhibited the Grand Champion Beef Steer, while Marlee Tarr was named Champion Senior Beef Showman, giving the Tarr family an impressive collection of top awards.

Breed Champions

Weston Goebel exhibited the Champion Junior Bull, while Kayla Goebel earned Reserve Champion Junior Bull.

In the female breed divisions:

  • Scarlett Warfel won Champion Angus Female.
  • Alivia Lingafelter captured Champion AOB Female, with James Lingafelter earning Reserve Champion AOB Female.
  • Caleb Kistner was named Champion Crossbred Female, while Brittany Helmink received Reserve Champion Crossbred Female.
  • Owen Crutcher exhibited the Champion Hereford Female, with Gabe Crutcher earning Reserve Champion Hereford Female.
  • Riley Tarr swept the Simmental division by winning both Champion and Reserve Champion Simmental Female.

Following the breed championships, Riley Tarr’s Simmental female was selected as Grand Champion Beef Female, while Owen Crutcher’s Hereford female earned Reserve Grand Champion Beef Female.

Feeder Calf and Steer Champions

Jace Frichtl exhibited the Champion Beef Feeder Calf, while Nathan Bierman earned Reserve Champion Beef Feeder Calf.

The steer championship concluded with Turner Tarr receiving Grand Champion Beef Steer, followed by Riley Tarr as Reserve Grand Champion Beef Steer.
