Karyn Joyce Fisher St. Pierre

March 20, 1947 – June 27, 2026

Karyn Joyce Fisher St. Pierre, 79, of Olney, Illinois, passed away at 1:39 AM on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Karyn was born March 20, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of E. Eugene and Ann Marie (Mullen) Fisher. She married Joseph E. “Jay” St. Pierre, Jr. on August 12, 1970, in Wilmington, Delaware, sharing 55 years of marriage together.

Karyn built a career defined by service to others. She began as a travel agent in Decatur, Illinois before pursuing nursing school when she lived in Florida, going on to work as an ER nurse, an OB nurse, and a psychiatric nurse at Richland Memorial Hospital. She later served as a Director at both Richland Manor and Flora Manor. Of all her work, she considered her time as a drug counselor at Robinson Correctional Center her favorite. This role reflected her deep belief in second chances and her gift for nurturing people through hard times.

Outside of work, Karyn was a natural party planner who loved entertaining, always finding joy in bringing people together. A devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Olney, she also found joy in her church community and in serving others. She was known by everyone who loved her as warm, nurturing, and endlessly supportive. Karyn’s first instinct was to champion the people around her in whatever they set out to do. Fittingly, her favorite movie was It’s a Wonderful Life, starring her second cousin, Jimmy Stewart, a film exactly about the kind of generous life she lived.

Karyn is survived by her husband, Jay; her children, Candice St. Pierre (Billy Sibley), Corbin St. Pierre (Joanie), Shannon St. Pierre (Jeff Lea), Kerry St. Pierre, and Barbara Moore (Nathan); her sisters, Nancy Slater and Barbara Ingraham; her grandchildren, William Koller, Elizabeth Koller, Levi St. Pierre, Janna Goetz, Ethan St. Pierre, Brendan St. Pierre, Olivia Goetz, JJ St. Pierre, Milana Lea, Maddox Lea, Chloe St. Pierre, Jakob St. Pierre, Jasper Moore, Noelle Moore, Shelby St. Pierre, Kelly St. Pierre, Jared St. Pierre, Alec St. Pierre, and Kitch St. Pierre; six great-grandchildren; and many beloved friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Karyn was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Tom Fisher; and her stepson, Bryan St. Pierre.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 5330 East Frontage Road, Olney, Illinois.  A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM, until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church of Olney. The Meyer Funeral Home of Olney has been entrusted with arrangements. The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.
