Notice: Elderly and Handicapped Voters

Notice is hereby given of the availability of registration and  voting aids under the Federal Voting Accessibility for the  Elderly and Handicapped Act, of the availability of assistance in  marking the ballot, procedures for voting by vote by mail ballot  and procedures for voting early by personal appearance.

In compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990  (ADA), early and Election Day voting sites offer handicap  entrance, wheelchair accessible voting booths, and voting  equipment.

When using the voting equipment, you can choose to have the  ballot displayed on a large-print screen or read to you through  headphones. You can customize the font size, screen contrast,  volume, and speed of speech.

Privately, you use the touch-screen feature or arrow keys to  navigate through the ballot choices and make selections  unassisted.

If you have difficulty physically entering either the early or  Election Day voting site, you may want to take advantage of the  voting by mail option.

The County Clerk’s office will be open Monday through Friday,  8:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. except for holidays. For more  information call the Jasper County Clerk and Recorder, Amy  Tarr at 618-783-3124.
