Stephen Lutz Family Located and Found Safe

Stephen, Monica, Aiden and Nicholas have been located in Cochise County in Arizona. With the assistance of license plate readers and the state police, the location of the family was narrowed down to the aforementioned area.

A deputy first made contact with Monica and the boys without Stephen present. All members of the family are safe.

The deputy stated that the boys appear healthy and Monica informed him of where to find Stephen. Shortly after the deputy made contact with Stephen, the deputy contacted Chief Britton.  The chief was able to personally speak with Stephen over the phone. Stephen stated they have relocated and have no plans of returning to Newton.

The City of Newton police department would like to thank everyone who assisted in any way with the search for this family. Chief Britton states, “We are relieved to have made contact with the family and are thankful that they are safe.”

  1. And this is where it ends? He is out on bond and did not comply. They left without the clothes. The son heard his dad say that he needed to kill the boys and his wife, and this is where it ends? Please tell me he has been arrested.

  2. It sounds like they may not be safe. The woman is a lot younger. I hope someone who cares will not just give up on them. I hope teachers are not going to make the mistake of having to look away like in the Thomas Valva case. Now this family is further isolated. Of course we don’t know what’s happening but we do know that people tend to isolate abuse victims and make it harder for them to leave. Why would they not have contact with anyone at all? Maybe do it quietly, but just make sure they are really ok. Too many kids have fallen through the cracks and we DO NOT want that.
